Travel Visas for Australia


Travel visas for Australia are needed for each individual that wants to enter Australia, unless such individual is also an Australian passport holder or qualifying New Zealand passport holder.
There are several categories of Travel Visas and Travel Authorizations according to the purpose and duration of the trip. 

An Australian Travel visa is required to visit Australia for a holiday, to visit family and friends or to conduct a short business trip. There are a number of different travel visas, depending on the purpose and duration of your visit.

If your are not a passport holder of one of the Countries in the ETA or EVV programs, you could be eligible for a Visitor Visa.

Travel visa types

Electronic Travel Authorization

The Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) is designed for people who intend to travel to Australia for holiday or specific business purposes. This Australian visa is linked to the holder's passport and is valid for 1 year, but only allows the holder to stay for no more than 3 months on each visit during the 1 year validity period. Only certain passports holder can apply for this visa.

eVisitor

The eVisitor visa has the same duration and conditions of the ETA such as 1 year validity but maximum 3 months on each visit, for holiday or specific business purposes only. The main difference is made by the nationality of people allowed to apply for this visa, which is larger than the nationality of people allowed to apply for an ETA.

Visitor Visa

The Visitor visa (SC 600) is designed for people who intend to visit Australia for different purposes. It can be granted for up 1 year and, in certain limited circumstances, without the 3 month stay limit on each visit. All passport holders can apply for this visa.
